How we make it

4 steps
  1. Sweetest sugarcane from West Uttar Pradesh
  2. Juice extracted and filtered — no chemical clarifiers
  3. Slow-boiled in open iron pans, impurities skimmed by hand
  4. Cooled, cut and broken into pieces — no sulphur, no additives

Why it's different

4 reasons
  • Natural unrefined sweetness — no bleach, no whiteners
  • Retains iron, magnesium and potassium from the cane
  • Traditional post-meal digestion aid
  • Convenient pieces for tea, snacks and recipes

Traditional jaggery pieces from West UP sugarcane. Slow-boiled, sulphur-free, the way gur was always made.

From West UP sugarcane, slow-boiled in open iron pans and set into rich golden-brown pieces. Bite-sized for snacking, tea, milk, or melting into curries and sweets. Same jaggery batch as our powder, just cut rather than crushed.

Why choose Chahal Chahal Agri Farms Natural Jaggery Pieces?

Is this jaggery really sulphur-free?

Yes. No sulphur and no chemical clarifiers are used at any stage. The cane juice is filtered and the scum skimmed off by hand while it boils in open iron pans. Sulphated ash tested at 0.59% against an FSSAI limit of 4.0%.

The lab report says "Jaggery Powder" — does it cover the pieces too?

Yes. The pieces and the powder are the same boiled jaggery from the same batch — the pieces are cut, the powder is crushed and sifted. One purity test covers the material, which is why both products cite report EQNX:001:FT:26:05:02521.

Why is it brown rather than bright golden?

Natural jaggery ranges from golden to dark brown depending on the cane and the boil. Very pale, uniformly bright jaggery usually means bleaching agents or whiteners were used.

Should I buy the pieces or the powder?

Pieces suit snacking, chewing after a meal, and melting into curries and sweets. Powder dissolves quickly and is easier to measure, so it suits tea, coffee, baking and kadhas. The jaggery itself is identical.

Does jaggery actually contain iron?

This batch tested at 3.36 mg of naturally occurring iron per 100 g. Refined white sugar has essentially none, because the minerals are stripped out during refining. Bear in mind a normal serving is a piece or two, so the per-serving amount is a small fraction of that figure.

How should jaggery be stored?

In a cool, dry place with the jar kept sealed. Jaggery draws moisture from the air, which is what makes it go soft and sticky. Our moisture reading of 4.11% against an FSSAI limit of 7% is what keeps it firm on arrival.
